Miziwe Biik’s Aboriginal Business Resource Centre (ABRC) is pleased to be offering the Small Business Certificate Course-Fall Session. This program is free to Aboriginal people.

The program will consist of twelve, two hour sessions between 10:00 am and 3:00 pm over a period of two weeks, starting Tuesday September 27th and concluding Thursday October 6th, 2011. 

An information session will be held regarding the course on Wednesday September 14th at 10:00 am in the ABRC. Attendance at the information session is mandatory to register for the course.

The ABRC is located on the second floor of Miziwe Biik at the 167 Gerrard Street East entrance.

The Small Business Certificate Course will concentrate on the many aspects of starting a running a successful business. Subjects covered during the course will be:

  • Managing Expectations: Challenges of Being an Entrepreneur
  • Operations Management: Gaining Effective Control
  • Small Business Structures: Registration and Licensing
  • Financials 101
  • Pricing Your Product or Service
  • Marketing Management
  • Writing Your Own Business Plan
  • Developing Your Own Mission Statement
  • Branding Basics
  • Sources of Funding
  • Networking Strategies
  • Websites and Social Media for Business

A Certificate of Completion will be presented to participants at the conclusion of the course. This certificate allows participants to apply for microloan and grant programs operated by Miziwe Biik Development Corporation.

Space is limited to a maximum of ten people.
